Some philosophers argue that evil is at least predictable, while stupidity is chaotic, contagious, and often unaware of itself. Hannah Arendt hinted at this in her idea of the “banality of evil,” where thoughtlessness enables great harm. Dietrich Bonhoeffer went further, claiming stupidity is more dangerous than malice because it can’t be reasoned with. Evil has intent; stupidity has momentum — and that’s what makes it so destructive.
